SO! here's the 2nd prayer chain!
Hi guys. ok i'm really intending to get the prayer pointers more organised. but as of yet it's not really organised, i gotta admit. sorry la, but hopefully it doesn't cause anyone to lose any sleep. anyway this week's one is pretty spontaneous, basically i just asked God what He wanted me to pray for. prayer chain leaders, please feel free to add in prayer pointers of your own.
1)Health-both in the physical and spiritual sense
this is really not something i'd usually say, but i believe God is trying to tell us that this is a season for healing. so for those of you not feeling well, what are you waiting for!
any other prayer pointers are pretty much up to you
2)falling away from the faith
Matthew 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
this is an extremely pessimistic topic to talk about. and probably that's why we don't talk about it. but not talking about it doesn't make it go away. here's something you might want to do. go find a picture of our cell. close your eyes and randomly point at someone in the picture. what if 10 years from now, that person is no longer with our church? i once had 3 other friends, and to cut the long story short, one of us is now an atheist of sorts, while the other 2 are apparently attending church. but i have no idea what level of faith they have, and neither do i intend to judge them.
pray that God will shield us from the Evil One, that we will not base our spiritual level on our climate or mood, and that God will help us understand how inseparable we are from him.
ok that's all. hopefully i won't be so pessimistic next time hor

Prayer Chain Week 1 :)
Prayer Chain begins this Wednesday, 25th June. 9pm.
Hi guys so this is the first prayer chain mail!! woot!
1) Discernmentthat God will give the grace to discern the thoughts within them, whether they are from God, from themselves or from the enemy.
2) Upcoming visit to Children's Homethat we will love the chidren, to love them like Jesus does, to feel what God feels for them
3) Bringing new friendscourage to ask, wisdom and sensibility to know if we're being a pain in the neck, peace of mind to trust God to work past the person's doubt, and LOVE for the person.

Idolatry was practiced right WITHIN the house of God!but don't be so quick to 'ORH-HOR!' the Israelites! haven't we been the same? have we been able to devote all of ourselves to God even in church? have we not been distracted? have we been worshipping the Jesus in the bible, or a Jesus that we have created for ourselves, with false doctrine and popular belief?
pray for: forgiveness, and strength to repent
Matthew 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heavenMany will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?And then I will say to them openly, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly[wicked referring to disregarding His commands, taken from the Amplified version]

Prayer Chain
HELLO POP!!! I'm so sorry for this post being this late :p
here's the grouping for Prayer Chain. we literally draw lots for the groupings but it was intentional that we're divided base on gender. :) We'll start in July k? Chao Yuan, ok? Can post weekly prayer pointers here :)
Group 1
Chain IC: Tim Han
Members: Joel, Jon Chye, Chao Yuan.
Group 2
Chain IC: Ben Sng
Members: Wilfred, Anyi, Julius
Group 3
Chain IC: Clara
Members: Christine, Weijin
Group 4
Chain IC: Eugenia
Members: Eunice, Kathleen
Do let me know if I've left anyone out k?
Each week, the chain ic will start the chain at 9/10pm depending on the preference/availability of the group members.
so for example, Clara, Christine and Weijin agree on 10pm. Clara will start the chain by calling i.e. Christine and will ask her for any prayer request. Christine shares. Clara prays for her and for the gerneral pointers that Chao Yuan posted on the blog. Christine then calls Weijin, prays for Weijin's prayer requests and also for the what Chao Yuan had posted. lastly, Weijin called Clara to end off the chain by praying for Clara's prayer needs, and the general items. :)
